Beep beep! Art on the Block is coming through!

Wednesday September 2nd will be a back-to-school celebration with live music, free refreshments, student art talent showcase, and a large-scale printmaking demo with a steamroller.

Art on the Block– Back to School Event 2026
The Art Gallery invites you to bring to the "Art on the Block" event on September 2nd from 11 am to 1 pm outside the Humanities Building. Enjoy artist demos, live music, student club sign-ups, free art giveaways, and great refreshments.
Featured printmaking artists include Erick Felix, M Garcia, Esmerelda Herandez, and Viva La Tinta KC. Artists will be printing new large-scale artwork with a steamroller machine. Along with printmaking demos of traditional crafts of mokuhanga, linocut, stamps, and screen printing.
Additionally, a special meet and greet with KCKCC Alumnus JT Daniels. Plus, get your chief season custom posters from artist Darryl Woods (Darth Art). Refreshments will be served by The Blue Devil Cafe, and paletas ice cream for the first 200 people. Live music performance by the KCKCC Jazz Combo Jam.

Let’s celebrate our Chiefs this season with local artist Darryl Woods. He will be giving out FREE posters with some of our favorite Chiefs players along with this seasons schedule.

The KCKCC Art Gallery presents “2 Decades In Focus” by Diallo Javonne French. A filmmaker and photographer, inspired by music artists, his award-winning photography style has graced magazines, museums, and greeting cards across the country.

Exhibit is from Aug. 17 through Oct. 2, 2026

Reception is Friday, Sep. 25, from 5pm to 7:30pm

Community is so important, especially when it comes to mental health. Thank you everyone who came and supported our exhibition partnering with , Start the Conversation. 120 local artists were able to share their work and personal experiences with mental health and gain support from our community.
