The Roost

The Roost The Roost is a collective artist’s studio and alternative gallery/venue for visual and musical artists to create, develop, and show their works. We love you.

Opened in May 2011 by three Kansas City Art Institute alumni; Brandon Forrest Frederick, Jason Comotto, and Adam McBride the gallery has to date hosted events ranging from group and solo exhibitions, EP releases, and Open Studios. The Roost been completely funded through community fundraisers and by the artists themselves for the past two years, and continues to support local artists through any m

eans available. The Roost is currently comprised of Jason Comotto, Brandon Forrest Frederick, Adam McBride, Stephanie Bloss, and Ben Hlavacek. Together we make (and show) things. We aim to showcase local artists and help expand Kansas City’s creative community through a variety of events and exhibitions. Hi everyone, in case you have not heard the Roost is, for the time being not operational. This is not to say that it is over for good, but in a state of transition and hopefully a new form will come in the future. I cannot stress enough how amazing the last two years have been working on this project and putting together the shows we have. Every individual who has participated, whether as an audience member or as an artist has my sincere gratitude for your work and time. It has been fantastic to hear the continued support from the community for the space. I love you all.

It's looking like The Roost will need to relocate again at the end of this month, so if you know of any reasonably priced spaces please contact us. We are trying to continue in one form or another!
