Kansas City Urban Potters is a collective of full-time studio artists making functional pottery with a high standard of craftsmanship. Located in the heart of an already-strong clay community, the collective looks to expand visibility of contemporary studio pottery to local and regional audiences through invitational exhibitions, public lectures and community-based events. Through joining forces a

nd partnering with other local organizations, makers can accomplish far more than what would be individually possible.

🎈NCECA week is here!! 🎈 🎉 Festivities kick off tomorrow evening and we CANNOT WAIT to show off this fabulous work from our invited artists and KCUP members. 😍 But first we will need to unload the trailer and setup the booth. ☑️And before THAT, we need to sleep. Rest up, ya’ll! It’s going to be a big week!

We are so excited to have the work of Joe Page (he/him) from Edwardsville, IL in our NCECA Expo Gallery Booth! Pop Rocks, Jolly Ranchers, and Nerds, Oh my! With all of Joe’s candy-like cloud pieces, we are tasting the Rainbow! 🤤

KCUP member Meredith Host (she/her) of Kansas City, MO will feature fresh gradients, polka dot patterns, and floral work in our Gallery Expo booth.🌸 Meredith grew up in the Detroit area, so this year’s NCECA is a bit of a homecoming for her. Ask Meredith where she grew up and she’ll point it out on her hand, like a true Michigander. ✋

KC Urban Potters presents Evie Englezos (she/her/they/them) of Kansas City, MO!
Evie explores ontology and mythology through porcelain and stoneware tableware as well as prints, comics and zines. Fun fact: in addition to being a kickass artist, Evie is a certified wildlife rehabber, caring for creatures like starlings, blue jays and box turtles. 🐍 🐢 🐦‍⬛ 💚
