At 2 PM Caedyn Huston, a Mid-Prairie highschool senior will be speaking at the museum about Washington County 's WW2 heroes and a day in the life of a WW2 GI. He will be dressed in a WW2 combat uniform as well! Don't miss his guest lecture!

We know this is early, but for the planners out there we'd love to have you decorate a tree for the Christmas tree walk during our open house December 5, 2026. This is a high traffic event and a free opportunity to promote your business with holiday spirit. You and your littles are invited to dress up in costume and enjoy our family-friendly Jack O' Lantern Jaunt Friday, October 30, 2026 from 4:30-7 PM on the museum grounds. This event is free thank you to our local business sponsors, Kalona Optimist Club, SE Iowa Insurance, and the Kalona Historical Society.

Caedyn Huston will be speaking Saturday, October 17, 2026 2:00 PM at the Kalona Historical Village. He will be sharing what daily life was like as a soldier. He will also share about the interesting and harrowing stories of soldiers from Washington County. What do you get when two ladies meet in Texas one from Kalona one from Manning? You get a partnership of communities.
Kalona Visited Manning with a small but might group of 11. We had two days of exploring this wonderful community and its rich history. You can tell people are proud of their community, we learned about everything!
Our group had a lot of fun and plan do figure another trip.
Manning the will be visiting Kalona November 5th and 6th.

Family fun at the Kalona Fall Festival! The Miller kids always have fun! All they needed on a rainy weekend was a handmade rope and a mud puddle to have fun lol. Thanks for always seeing something positive on a dreary weekend.
