“Pioneer Day”.
The Johnson Creek Historical Society has hosted this day for Johnson Creek 3rd Graders for the last 18 years. This year we focused on the 250th Anniversary of America! The projects we worked on are: sawing logs, building a cabin, hauling water with a shoulder yoke, planting 3 sisters, make butter(ate with crackers),made a colonial flag, made clay marbles and made lanterns. Many of the items made, each student could take home. We also had demonstrations on spinning, candle dips and a fur trader and his wares. Attached are a photo’s from the day.
