What is B.O.S.T.?
It is the Blanco County Open Studio Tour

This is your opportunity to tour the workspaces of local artists. See their vibe, their process and an opportunity to purchase art. Add to your collection or start an art collection!

Opening Reception: Friday April 17 from 4-7PM
Location: GEM of the Hills

Meet the artists, view their work and talk to them about their process. Enjoy complimentary wine, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. Pickup maps showing locations of the various participating studios so you can plan your weekend stops. Studios are in both North and South Blanco County.

Participating Studios open:
Saturday April 18, 1pm-6pm
Sunday April 19, 1pm-6pm.

GEM of the Hills will be open Saturday and Sunday, April 18 & 19 from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Volunteers will be available to tell you more about B.O.S.T. and hand out maps.

This week, we are sharing some of our favorite artwork DUOS in celebration of Valentine's Day this coming weekend!!

This DUO features a mixed media work by Jodi Walsh featuring clay and acrylic on a wood panel, with an encaustic wax work by Janet Haynes.

I am honored to have work included in the upcoming “Material Matters” exhibition at in The Woodlands north of Houston. The reception is Saturday, Feb, 7th from 6-8pm. This gallery is full of art from a wide variety of artists and mediums. My work, “The Needs of Nature”, 18”x18” mixed media including found objects and encaustic depicts cycles of nature from a Burr acorn to stately trees. Stop by and experience the magic of art. Check for regular hours beyond the artist reception.

Wonderful work is available The Ardest Gallery. Amazing works under $500, many less than $200 looking for new homes for the holidays! This is the last week the gallery will be open until after Christmas!

A match made in heaven! This mixed media work by Lynne Buchanan and an encaustic wax work by Janet Haynes are a fantastic example of how pieces of all mediums and styles can be paired together for a unique gallery wall.
