Mr. Daniel Coppes, aged 73 years, died at the home of his son-in-law, Samuel Dougherty, Williamsport, Thursday afternoon last after a lingering illness.
The High School boys have organized a football team known as the Jersey Shore “Quicksteps.” They have arranged a series of games with several teams of Williamsport.
The monument erected in the Jersey Shore cemetery by E.K. Fiester & Son for ex-councilman J.G. Calvert is a very fine one.
Tuesday evening of last week two horses and a buggy were stolen from the barn of
William Shoemaker, German settlement, while the gentleman was eating supper.
Mr. Shoemaker traced the team to Waterville, but as it was getting dark, he gave up the chase.
Miss Laura M. Forsythe, of Toms Run, and John M. Stolcup, of Ramsey’s were married by Recorder Tulls, in City Hall, Corning.
Robert C. Harris has moved into the Klasener store room on Main Street.
Ladies desiring employment in the proposed knitting factory will leave their names at the Koester & Loeb’s clothing store.

Jacob Tomb, of Slate Run, had an adventure with a black bear recently.
Between 6 and 7 o’clock yesterday morning a Beech Creek coal train running in the second section of no. 88, from Jersey Shore to Newberry Junction, wrecked eight cars of coal just south of Larry’s Creek station.
Andy Aeout and C. Bowerson, of Sugar Valley, are building a high lime stack for Abram Welshans.-Nippenose News.
