The 1909 class at one of Jekyll Island's schools 🏫 ✏️

Built in 1901 for the children of white employees of the Jekyll Island Club, the school was led by its first and longest-serving teacher, Bertha Baker (top left), from 1901 to 1918. Her students ranged in age from 5 to 19.
