Scarlett O'Hardy's Gone With the Wind Museum is located in historic Jefferson, four blocks west of downtown and just past the southwest corner of Taylor and Main streets, across from Christ Episcopal Church and Lions Park. I make every effort to be available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; however, my hours are limited. IF YOU ARE COMING TO JEFFERSON SPECIFICALLY TO VISIT THE MUSEUM, PLEASE CALL

This 1,700-square-foot museum features one of the world's largest private collections of memorabilia relating to Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and David O. Selznick's Academy Award-winning motion picture. The museum gift shop features Gone With the Wind-related items, both old and new.

Margaret Mitchell earned a Pulitzer Prize in Novels for her Civil War epic "Gone with the Wind" on this day in history, May 3, 1937. She died tragically at age 48.
