Bushy Run Battlefield preserves and interprets for citizens and visitors the site of this pivotal battle fought between British and Native Americans during the conflict known as Pontiac's War (1763-64). Colonel Henry Bouquet and a force of approximately 400 British soldiers left Carlisle in July to relieve the besieged Fort Pitt and end a series of unchecked attacks against frontier outposts. The
opening of western Pennsylvania to settlement was the result of a decisive victory over the Native Americans at the Battle of Bushy Run, August 5th and 6th, 1763. Highlights of the site include the interpretive exhibit, “The March to Bushy Run” at the site’s visitor center, as well as guided and self-guided tours, special events and educational programs. We're having fun, fun, fun at Paws in the Park. It's a great way to spend the day with your best friend!
PLEASE, I'll be a good dog, just please take me to Paws in the Park @ Bushy Run Battlefield tomorrow! It's FREE and they'll be there from 11-3 with games, crafts, treats for both of us, pet supplies, and all that space to run! Please, please, let's go!
Paws in the Park is Saturday, Sept. 10th - a nice day to spend with your best friend!
I am a dog and my name is Winston. 🐶
Daddy and I went on a walk today. We got up to the woods and I smelled something. It was a recent smell too! It was fresh! 🤔
I was smelling all around where it was. Daddy was saying something but I was too busy smelling. I had to find where the thing that made the smell was. It was near. Smells are my favorite thing. 👃
Daddy kept saying things. I looked up at him and he had his arm and finger out but there was nothing at the end of his finger so I kept snuffling. 🦌
We got to the end of the lot, near the big slope. I could smell whatever it was but I never saw. Daddy wouldn't let me go down the big slope. 🙄
We went on with the rest of our walk up the hill but we didn't go the whole way up. It was pretty steep and I got tired. 😴
We ran all the way home. Running is my favorite thing. 🥳
I am a dog and my name is Winston! 🐶
Today we went for a walk and we went a different way than normal. We went up a hill and when we got to the top there was another hill! 🏔
We went up that and then daddy wanted to go up another hill, but there was a dog barking up there and he sounded mean and I didn't want to go that way. So daddy went back with me. 🐕❤️👨
It turned out to be the best decision ever! 🤩
We saw another dog that way. He was an older dog and I played with him but his people were very nice and the lady gave me a treat. A treat while on a walk! It was the best day ever! Treats are my favorite thing! That lady is my favorite thing! 🦴
Then we saw another dog and we played for a little bit too! 🥳
Two dogs and a treat! We sure did make the right decision. ☺️
I am a dog and my name is Winston! 🐶
I'm on Facebook duty for a few more days until Paws in the Park on Saturday! 🐾
Daddy took me for a nice walk today. Walks are my favorite thing. It was sprinkling rain while we walked. Rain is NOT my favorite thing. 🌧
Daddy threw my ball for me so I could run and chase it. My ball is my favorite thing. Then Daddy and I wrestled. Wrestling is my favorite thing! I'm a strong boy! 💪
Daddy wants me to tell everyone that Bushy Run has lots of fun things coming up in September and October! You can look at our events here, on our website, and at www.eventbrite.com! 🥳
I am a dog and my name is Winston. 🐶
I'm taking over facebook for Liz this week because of Paws in the Park. 🐾
Today is my birthday. I am one year old now. I'm getting all grown up. Growing up is my favorite thing. 🎂🎈
Daddy and I slept in today. I like to sleep in. When we woke up I got lots of pets and I kissed daddy's face for a while like I do every day. Pets and kisses are my favorite thing. 😚
We went to the creek today. The creek is my favorite thing. I went in the water. I don't like to go too deep but sometimes I go pretty deep when there is something in the water I want. 🪷
Dad says there is lots of fun stuff planned for me this week. Fun stuff is my favorite thing. 🥳
I am a dog and my name is Winston. 🐶
Daddy says I have to do facebook posts for Bushy Run this week because of Paws in the Park. 🐾
Today my daddy took me to Bushy Run. We went for a walk. Walks are my favorite thing. We went down all the trails in the woods and I got to smell all the things that were there. Smelling things is my favorite thing. 🌳🌱🍁🌼
Then we went and saw some of my friends that were there. My friends are my favorite thing. I was very excited to see them. Some of my friends have treats and they give them to me. Treats are my favorite thing. ❤️
We only have 10 tickets left for the Fall Tea on October 15th! Make sure you secure your spot so you don't miss this lovely event! 🫖☕️
