Imprint and Playback opened last night, inviting visitors to experience movement in unexpected ways.

Rewrite the story you tell yourself during a two-session workshop with Rachel Schaeffer Wolfe, exploring how creativity and mindfulness can help us shift old patterns and embrace new perspectives.

Through creative journaling, meditation, mindful movement, and a connection to nature, you’ll discover tools to cultivate self-love, quiet self-doubt, and begin writing a new chapter on your own terms. No previous experience required—just bring a journal and an open mind!

Imprint and Playback opens Friday!

Seven artists from RISD Movement Lab RISD Film/Animation/Video are bringing their work to JAC, and we’re getting a first look as they install their exhibition.

Featuring artists: Azadeh Ahmadi, Patrick Buhr Patrick Buhr, Hunter Whitaker-Morrow, Kameron Neal kameron neal L.A. Samuelson Laura Ann Samuelson Maxime Cavajani Maxime Cavajani and Melisa Achoko-Allela., Imprint and Playback explores movement, experimentation, and collaboration.

Opening Reception this Friday, October 16, from 5:30–7:30 PM. Free, open to all.

What happens when food, community, and a love of Italy bring us back to life?

Join us at JAC for “Italian Wannabe,” a film about Chef Bill Disselhorst, who built one of America’s Top 100 restaurants with his wife, Anne. After tragedy upends his life, Bill returns to the small Italian village where they first fell in love with food, searching for a reason to cook again.

After selling out five screenings at the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival, “Italian Wannabe” is making its way around the country—with a stop right here in Jamestown!

Beyond the boats!

Best known for his dramatic photographs of the maritime world, award-winning photographer Onne van der Wal Onne van der Wal has spent decades documenting something else along the way: people.

On Wednesday, November 4, join Onne at JAC for The Family of Man, a special presentation inspired by Edward Steichen’s landmark 1955 exhibition. Through photographs captured in shipyards in China, on the streets of Cuba, in villages in Thailand, and around the world, Onne shares stories of the people he has encountered and the universal connections that bind us together.
