Downtown Vision, Inc. is teaming up with Bazaar47 for this Wednesday’s Art Walk, bringing the Gainesville group’s touring night market to Jacksonville. Think local makers, music, and interactive art, with each stop celebrating the city’s own creatives.

With storms in the forecast, Art Walk is moving indoors to participating Downtown businesses. Follow Downtown Vision, Inc. for updated programming locations.

At MOCA Jacksonville, admission is free from 5–9 p.m. Browse local artist tables, make art at Made @ MOCA, and enjoy happy hour specials at the MOCA Bar. Artist tables and Made @ MOCA run from 5–8 p.m.

It is also opening day for ‘In Our Own Image: Visualizing Indigenous Florida,’ which presents the work of seven contemporary Indigenous artists whose works reflect many years of collaborative research into Mocama (Timucua) language, history, and archaeology. Presented in collaboration with UNF professors Dr. Denise I. Bossy and Dr. Keith Ashley, the exhibition accompanies Cara Romero’s ‘Panûpünüwügai (Living Light),’ now on view.

Try wheel throwing, ceramics handbuilding, figure drawing, or watercolor in this month’s workshops. Artful Movement with Yoga 4 Change returns Sun, Oct 18.

MOCA Free Movie Night features ‘Backrooms’ (2026) on Wed, Oct 21.

Kids Art Lab celebrates the season with ‘Night of the Living Pumpkins.’ October’s programs for kids and teens also include free Autism Creates workshops and Teen Sketch Studio.

Winter Camp registration is open for K–5 students, with camps Dec 21–23 and Dec 28–30.

Local artists and artisans can apply for the Nov 28 MOCA Mini Market by Nov 1. Applications and participation are free.

Two new exhibitions to see this October at MOCA Jacksonville.

Now on view, ‘Panûpünüwügai (Living Light)’ explores the narrative artistic practice of Chemehuevi photographer Cara Romero. Opening Oct 7, ‘In Our Own Image: Visualizing Indigenous Florida’ presents the work of seven contemporary Indigenous artists whose works reflect many years of collaborative research into Mocama (Timucua) language, history, and archaeology.

This dynamic exhibition, featuring more than 50 large-scale photographs, showcases the narrative artistic practice of Chemehuevi photographer Cara Romero (Cara Romero).

Enjoy an evening of art and community, with drinks at the MOCA Bar. Public admission is free from 8–9 p.m.
