The Museum’s next chapter is taking shape! Today, we are excited to share the latest renderings of our future home on Downtown Jacksonville’s Northbank.

The five-story, approximately 125,000-square-foot Museum will feature 10 exhibitions, a café, and other spaces for community programming and events. Together, these spaces will create new opportunities for discovery and inspire curiosity throughout our community.

This milestone marks another exciting step forward, and we can’t wait to share more with you along the way!

Congratulations to Jill Davis, named the AFP First Coast Chapter's 2026 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser!

As chair of the Museum of Science & History's board of trustees and co-chair of our capital campaign, Jill has helped lead one of Jacksonville's largest cultural projects, alongside more than two decades of nonprofit leadership across Northeast Florida.

We're proud to join MOCA Jacksonville and University of North Florida in nominating her for this well-deserved honor. Thank you, Jill, for your leadership, generosity and commitment to our community!

As we reflect on 85 years of impact, we are reminded that the true magic has always been our guests and their experiences that brought the Museum of Science & History to life.

That connection has been the thread linking every chapter of our story. From our earliest days in Riverside, through decades on the Southbank, and into our future home across the St. Johns River, we'll keep sparking wonder and igniting curiosity in every person who walks through our doors.

We are building a new world-class museum for you, designed to inspire future generations of explorers, dreamers and innovators, filled with immersive experiences and opportunities for discovery at every age.

Generations of families have created lasting memories at the Museum, and we look forward to many more! Drop your favorite Museum memory below ⬇️. What experience has stayed with you the most?

By age 5, a child's brain is already 90% developed, which is why early learning matters so much.

We're grateful to share that PNC is deepening its commitment to the Museum of Science & History with an additional $500,000 investment, bringing their total support to $1 million. This gift will expand our early learning programs and create a dedicated Early Learning Pathway designed just for our youngest visitors.

Hear from Chris Kalin, PNC Regional President for North Florida and a proud Museum Board of Trustees member, on why investing in Jacksonville's next generation matters, and what we're building together.

Thank you, PNC, for helping bring science, history, and discovery to life for every child in our community!

Join us in welcoming Lysa M. Barbano as our executive director!

A loaned executive from VyStar Credit Union, Lysa's years of executive and community-leadership experience will guide us through upcoming planning milestones and into construction. As the central liaison among our board, staff and key partners, she will help keep the project on track and will be instrumental in onboarding long-term leadership as the Museum nears completion in the future.

When joining, Lysa said, "From strong leadership, an engaged board, dedicated staff, and committed partners to a donor community that has invested nearly $100 million, everything is in place to create something truly transformational for Jacksonville. I am honored to be part of it.”

Welcome, Lysa! 🎊
