❤️ Sometimes the best part of an art festival isn't the art. It's the conversations that happen around it.

Saturday gave us another chance to share something we love—connecting people with the artists who create the work.

There's something special about meeting an artist, watching them work, and hearing a little about what inspires them.

Suddenly, you're not just looking at a painting or a handmade piece. You're seeing the person, the time, and the care behind it.

That's one of the things we love most about Art in the Village. 🎨

🎨 Simple artist brushes. Three completely different ways of seeing the world!

One of the things we love about art is how differently each artist approaches a blank surface.

And on Saturday, October 17, you'll get to watch at least three of our painters at work!

💧 Mary Spellings will demonstrate her watercolor painting skills.

🌲 Chris Holmes will create landscapes using Bob Ross-style oil painting techniques.

🖌️ Laurel Gillespie will share her creative process through her plein air painting setup.

Watch their techniques, ask questions, and see how each artist brings a unique vision to life.

Whether you've been collecting art for years or are just beginning to explore what you love, there's something special about meeting the person behind the painting.

🎨 Meet the Artist: Jennifer Hannis

Another wonderful addition to Art in the Village!

There's something peaceful about a painting that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. That's the feeling you get from Jennifer Hannis's artwork.

Jennifer paints landscapes and still lifes, using soft, soothing colors to capture the beauty of nature and everyday moments. From quiet waters and Tennessee sunsets to delicate flowers arranged in a blue-and-white vase, her paintings bring a sense of calm and warmth to a room.

Whether you're drawn to her larger floral paintings or her smaller landscapes, Jennifer's work offers a lovely way to bring a little of the outdoors into your home.

We're happy to welcome Jennifer to Art in the Village and invite you to stop by to see her paintings in person!

🦉🐟🦌 Have you been following Mary Spellings' Hatchie River Bridge project? Just LOOK at what's taking shape!

From a watchful owl and colorful fish to a beautiful deer and wood duck, Mary is bringing the wildlife of the Hatchie River to life—one brushstroke at a time.

But there's a deeper story behind this project. ❤️

Mary has loved the Hatchie River and its peaceful, winding beauty for years. When she heard about the opportunity to paint this mural nearly two years ago, she submitted a proposal—and was awarded the project!

Now she's tackling one of her biggest artistic challenges yet: a mural approximately 5 feet tall and 100 feet long!

Mary shared that the unusual composition and working high above the ground make this especially challenging. But she's embracing it with gratitude, determination, and faith.

Her hope is that others will gain a new appreciation for one of West Tennessee's natural treasures—the Hatchie River.

And we get to watch it come to life! 🎨

Have you ever watched a piece of wood transform on a lathe? Or seen a lump of clay slowly take shape beneath an artist's hands?

There's something fascinating about watching the creative process unfold right before your eyes!

And this Saturday, you can experience BOTH!

🪵 Giley Wright will demonstrate the art of woodturning—turning ordinary wood into beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations.

🏺 Allyssa Miller will be at the pottery wheel, showing how a simple lump of clay becomes something special.

And the best part? You can meet them, watch them work, and ask questions along the way! ❤️

It's a wonderful opportunity to discover the skill, patience, and creativity behind handmade art.

Meet the Artist: Beth Fuller! 🎨☂️

We've welcomed some new artists to Art in the Village, and we're excited to introduce you to each of them this week just in time for the festival next Saturday!

First up is Beth Fuller, and she's brought a whole lot of COLOR to the gallery! 🌈

Beth creates beautiful hand-painted parasols bursting with bright colors and playful patterns. But here's what makes them even more interesting—she uses paints that reflect ultraviolet light in a dark room! ☀️

From bold geometric designs to cheerful florals and swirling bursts of color, each parasol is a unique work of art.

Imagine one of these colorful creations adding a little personality to your space. They're definitely conversation starters!

We're delighted to have Beth as part of our Art in the Village family, and we can't wait for you to see her work!
