Pittsburgh Street later PA 51 heading north from Oliver/Uniontown around 1950. The streetcar line on the right is on its way to Phillips Bitner Vance Mills and Juniata Coke ovens.. This became the northbound lanes of Route 51 after 1951. This spot is hard to line up today.

Although the West Penn railways street car destination sign said it went to Dawson, it actually did not. It stopped just to the right of this bridge at Dickerson run and then made it its way back through Vanderbilt and back to Leisenring.  There were no street car tracks ever placed on the bridge to get to Dawson. Everything you see in this picture (except the house on hill) is gone today. This was the Dickerson run rail yard and round house area. If you look carefully on the left you can see the stairs people took exiting the street car to cross the bridge into Dawson...

It’s cool when a trolley station is saved as that rarely happens. The Perkasie PA historical Society saved the Lehigh Valley transit station where the liberty Bell line ran until 1951.

... at the corner of Baum Boulevard and Liberty Avenue looking east toward the Methodist Church around 1920... Interesting that the tracks of the Pittsburgh Railways Company streetcars were not sunken into the Belgian block yet...
.. Anyone know the history of that ?
