Easley Pioneer Museum Started in 2003, the Easley Pioneer Museum began with the Freeman School House, an 1843 log cabin, a The museum is open Tuesdays and Fridays.

School's out in many area schools, so we thought we'd highlight one of our hidden gems at the museum grounds - our one-room schoolhouse! The Freeman School was moved to the museum grounds, and the Easley Pioneer Museum building project began.

You can travel back in time and see what the requirements were to achieve an 8th-grade diploma! Believe us, it wasn't easy, and many adults would have a difficult time passing the test now.

A special thank you to ALL teachers of ALL decades for your dedication and patience in developing young people. You'll never know what an impact you have made.
