If you enjoy quilts, fiber arts and handmade work, be sure to spend some time in the barn this year.

The Pins and Needles Fiber Arts Group will be sharing a variety of fiber arts and how-to demonstrations, while Everything Pipe Cleaners will have handmade flowers, animals, key chains, children's rings, barrettes and more.

You’ll also find quilted baby blankets, wall hangings, handmade quilts, craft gifts and other locally made items throughout the barn.

Plowing Day is as much about preserving traditional skills and creativity as it is about tractors and farming.

This year’s exhibitors will include several organizations and displays that highlight the history and life of our region.

Look for the , with information about Seneca County history and the historic Becker Mansion; South Seneca FFA with an educational display, and #160 sharing information about its community projects.

Take some time to wander through the exhibits, ask questions and discover something new about the community we call home.

🍂A little taste of fall at Plowing Day - A week away!

Along with the tractors, animals and demonstrations, you’ll find plenty of locally made and grown items to explore.

Earthen Art & Botanicals will offer a hands-on activity where, for a fee, visitors can decorate a flower crown or small autumn wreath using vines and fresh or dried botanicals.

be bringing locally produced pork products, jams and baked goods from right here in Interlaken.

You’ll also find handmade and locally produced items from Linda Cole, including her lighted w**e bottles and handmade gifts, along with Crystal’s Prints, 'sHoneyandApiary, and Interlaken Paintings by Jeremy Day, featuring artwork inspired by places throughout Seneca County.

Come enjoy the day, meet some of our local makers and producers, and support the people creating and growing things right here in our community.

🔥 History is better when you can see it in action.

We’re pleased to welcome Greg Zoller, Blacksmith & Farrier, back to Plowing Day and Country Fair.

Stop by his outdoor demonstration and watch traditional blacksmithing skills at work one of the many ways Plowing Day brings the history of farming and rural life to life.

You’ll find demonstrations, exhibits, tractors, animals, vendors and activities happening throughout the day.

🚜 The tractors are a big part of Plowing Day!

One of the best parts of the day is seeing tractors of different ages, sizes and makes gathered together and then watching them take part in the Parade of Animals & Tractors at 12:15.

Among this year’s exhibitors will be Robin McFall with a 1952 John Deere 320, along with Bill McLaughlin and a collection of vintage garden tractors, including Massey Ferguson and John Deere models.

Whether you know every model at a glance or simply enjoy seeing these old machines still running, there will be plenty to look at.

🎥 **Plowing Day, April 30, 2005 where it all began**

As we prepare for our 10th Plowing Day and Country Fair, we’re taking a look back at the very first one, held more than 20 years ago on April 30, 2005.

That day included tours of the historic 1908 J.T. Wells barn, along with a plowing demonstration that showed just how much farming technology had changed over time.

Visitors watched a yoke of oxen, teams of horses, a single horse, antique tractors on steel and rubber, a 1920 Case steam tractor, and increasingly modern tractors and plows work the field.

And yes it rained! As one speaker in the video put it, it was “a pretty good day for actually plowing…not a great day for spectators.”

This video is a wonderful record of that first event and many of the people, machines and stories that helped start a tradition.
