Less than a mile behind the Frontier Communications building is Moshier’s Clearing. The forest is rapidly reclaiming the area. There were wide trails leading out in several directions from the clearing. There is also a well-built stone foundation in ruins nearby that has remnants of a stove in it. When I was a kid I heard stories that logging took place here, but I’ve found no historical written documentation on the site. There was also a ski trail that led back to the clearing. Whatever occurred here required buildings and heavy equipment. Timber from areas like this was used for local great camps, which seems very probable. We rely now on stories that have been passed down. Maybe others have further information on this site. Post by Mike Beck
