If your Halloween poster didn’t make the Top 10, we’d still love to give it a place on the walls at Magpie. Every one of these posters represents someone’s creativity, imagination and love for this wonderfully weird little neighborhood, and we think that deserves to be seen. So we’re inviting all of this year’s Halloween poster artists to exhibit their work in our October show at Magpie Artspace. October is a pretty magical month in Irvington as you know, and with the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival bringing thousands of people to the neighborhood, this will likely be our biggest audience of the year. Your poster will get another chance to be seen, appreciated and celebrated. We’ll also have an opening reception and a closing reception during October, so bring your friends and family, come see your work hanging in a real gallery, and celebrate all the creativity that makes Irvington Halloween what it is. Didn’t make the Top 10? You still made something worth showing. We’d be delighted to hang it.

Is there a fee for showing my work at the Magpie?
Nope.
When should I drop off my poster?
Come by the Magpie (206 S Audubon in between the tattoo studio and the Snug Irish Pub) this week between noon and 5 pm. Ask for Justin or Jamie.
Should I frame my poster?
Yes! We have a standard gallery hanging system that enables us to display framed art beautifully. Stick it in a frame that’s suitable for hanging (so, don’t get the kind with that fold out thingy for setting on a table). It should have a D-ring or wire on the back.
Can I sell my poster?
In keeping with the spirit of the festival, posters will not be for sale, but you will make a valuable connection with a fine art gallery where you may have an opportunity to sell other works in the future! (This is a change from our original announcement and is based on thoughtful input from festival organizers.)
When does the poster show open?
The show will open on the October 2 for Irvington’s First Friday event. We will have a lil party that evening to celebrate all the poster artists this year (well, all but
How long will my poster be displayed?
Your poster will hang at the Magpie for about three weeks.
