We're thrilled to announce artist Marcene Glover as the judge for the Fox Clark Gallery Juried Exhibition! The exhibition is up, so stop by for a sneak peek this weekend before the opening reception and awards ceremony next Saturday, August 29.

Marcene Glover is a mixed media painter currently exhibiting in two New York City galleries. Her work is shown and sold in France and Norway, commissioned by U.S. Members of Congress, and collected by universities, galleries, a congressional research center, museum, and other public buildings. She has been awarded nationally for her figurative work.

Glover incorporates encaustic, fibers, sculpted glass, and enameled metalwork into her oil and acrylic paintings. Her current project is creating a body of work to be exhibited in Japan. Glover studied Fine Arts at Seton Hill University, in residency with Dacia Gallery NYC, and with Master Fresco Painter Emanuele Capozza in Florence Italy. She apprenticed in Fibers Design with Lauren Helfand Designs, and then became a designer there, serving clients in Canada and the U.S. Eastern coast. Glover has experience as a Courtroom Artist, Portrait Artist, Arts Advocate, Writer-Illustrator, Art Teacher in primary, secondary schools and college. She was PA
Council on the Arts’ Regional Traditional Arts Consultant for 16 years. During that time she served as a panelist for PA Rural Arts Alliance, and taught over 20 painting residencies throughout this region, most of which were through Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. Glover was one of the four Artists conducting PA Council on the Arts’ two year pilot program bringing the Arts into Core classroom education. She has both studied and taught at Touchstone Center for Crafts.

Glover served on Women’s Caucus for Art New York Chapter Leadership Team. She is a Signature member of National Association of Women Artists, and exhibiting member of Women
in Arts, as well as New York Artists Circle, and Alliance for Creative Rural Economies.

During COVID season Glover opened ArtHouse6 Gallery and Residency Site, in Johnstown, where she curated international exhibits and gave support to dozens of artists, writers, and musicians. Glover is primarily based in NYC, with studio space on Rehoboth Bay. You can view her work and learn more about her at her website: https://marcenegloverart.com/

Introducing our newest Visiting Artist, Arielle Golden!

Arielle Golden is a black biracial artist from Pittsburgh, PA - a multimedia artist specializing in woodworking, drawing, wood burning, and oil painting. After earning their BA at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, they began their journey of diving headfirst into the art world by volunteering at their university’s woodshop assisting their community and students with their own projects. During their spare time Golden dedicates their time to honing their craft, growing their business, collaborating with other local artists and displaying their work for all in exhibitions across PA. Their work has appeared in the Annex Gallery in at IUP, Fox Clark Gallery in Indiana PA, and in Philadelphia’s Art in Wood Gallery. Golden’s long-term goal is to make their art accessible to everyone while hosting a platform for other artists to collaborate.

Ari's stunning display of woodworking embellished with their intricate pointillist technique includes a touching portrait of late local artist Matthew Bartus, as well as several other beautiful and delicate pieces. Ari's work is on display through August 29, so be sure to stop in and see it - and maybe pick up some one-of-a-kind candlesticks or coasters, or grab a business card to find out more about this talented local artist's work!
