If youâve ever been curious about blacksmithing, nowâs your chance to get your hands dirty the age-old way. Beginning Saturday, April 11, and Saturday, April 18, Pioneersâ Museum will offer blacksmithing classes taught by Mr. Cody Warburton aka Stone Knifeman and Ms. Betsy OâConnell of Virginia. Classes are suitable for beginners and/or intermediate-level skill sets. Students must be 18 years of age or 10+ accompanied by an adult.
Through hands-on, step-by-step projects, students will learn the use of a coal forge, fire safety, and basic blacksmithing techniques. Class size is limited, ensuring a low student-to-teacher ratio. Registration is available in person or online.
