The Old Wolcott area has many great stories about people, places, ideas, and things no longer in existence!

Come to the Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee - next Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm at North Rose-Wolcott High School to experience tales from Wolcott, Rose, Huron, and Butler. Before you head home, you are sure learn something you didn't know about our towns. You just may find exploring our local history a fun and entertaining hobby.

Local Photographers Wanted - to help document the final Old Wolcott Bicentennial Event coming up on Saturday, October 17th from 10am to 3pm at NRW High School - The Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee!

If you like to take photos, enjoy meeting people, and experiencing local history with others, this is the event for you!!!

There will be a variety of exhibitors and local folks sharing history, our ancestors' heritage skills, music, and more . . .

Come anytime between 10 and 3 and stroll through the gym and small cafeteria. Enjoy some lunch provided by the NRW Booster Cub, and the revisit the exhibits to capture some new faces and new moments!

Even if you don't take pictures - bring your phone - you never know whom you might capture a moment with.

Lots of history in this post from Gone Graving!! Another huge thank you to Parker Maybe for un-earthing and restoring the gravestone of VanRensselaer Fowler the founder of Fowler Farms - the oldest operating apple farm in the Town of Huron.

Parker will be at the Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee at NRW High School on Saturday, October 17th. Come visit with him and learn more about his gravestone preservation and history pursuits.

Historian Fox is getting ready for the final Old Wolcott bicentennial celebration - the Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee - Saturday, October 17 - from 10 am to 3 pm at North Rose - Wolcott High School. Historians are encouraging community members - including students, parents, teachers, businesses, service organization, collectors, and others to take part in the Jubilee with exhibits of their own. Wondering what you might do? Come visit the HHC this Saturday to learn more about how you can participate to help make this grand bicentennial finale event one to be remembered for another 200 years!!!

Honor the past. . . Acknowledge the present. . . Look to the future. . .

An Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee is planned for October 17, 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm at North Rose -Wolcott High School. This community-wide event will be the grand finale event for the 2026 four-town bicentennial commemoration. Intended to bring community members from Butler, Huron, Rose, and Wolcott together in celebration of our common heritage and unique histories, the long term hope is to inspire curiosity and preservation of our community’s many historical assets.

You are the key to holding some of those assets. We are looking for community members to share their histories. By community - we are talking about
- Businesses – farms, restaurants, stores, banks, theaters, arts groups. . .
- Cemetery Associations, Genealogical and Family History clubs . . .
- Clubs, Service Organizations, P***c Libraries . . .
- Churches and Worship Groups . . .
- Scout troops, Sport/Marshall Arts groups . . .
- Collectors – bottles, postcards and other paper items, historic clothing, tools, agricultural tools, antiques . . .
- Family histories - a wonderful offering. There will be a family history center to explore. Bring your family stories, too.
- Photographic displays of historic sites, people, events.

Students of all age levels (including adults) are encouraged to work on a local history topic of their interest to share. Your local historian and historical societies can help you with this.
