ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championships VIP awards. They are being held in Denmark later this month. The paddles represent their national flag.

Happy Birthday to my hero Duke Paoa Kahanamoku! In my mind Duke was what every man should strive to be. Kind, brave, humble and athletic. I have had the honor of sharing Duke's legacy numerous times throughout my career. One of my greatest honors is shown here. In 2020 I co-curated an exhibit honoring Duke in Saudi Arabia at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sport Museum. His "aloha spirit" lives on. Be like Duke.

Over the years I've made lots of surf trophies for the furry surfers. These are 2 of the winners at the Duke Kahanamoku Ocean Festival this week. Beautiful Puka is a 3 time champion in her division. Max seems to like his trophy too.

Last weekend at World Bodysurfing Championships was a first for my trophy work. The dude holding the trophy is none other than North Shore Legend Mark Cunningham. He is bodysurfing's GOAT and a lifeguard legend. When I sculpted these pieces I used reference photos of him bodysurfing Pipeline. He won a trophy with himself on it!

I didn't make it to Tahiti or Paris but my artwork did! Yesterday in Paris ISA President Fernando Aguerre presented my "Teahupo'o Award" to Tony Estanguet. Tony is the President of Olympic Games Committee, a 3 X Olympic Gold Medalist and a surfer. To play a super small part of the Olympic Games is a real honor for me.

Here's another VIP award design for the Olympic Surfing Competition in Tahiti. It's a model of the incredible wave called Teahupoo, translation is "end of the road". These will be presented in Tahiti and Paris. You probably know I create a lot of high profile work. This honor is one of my highest.

When I designed and created the VIP awards for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics it was all about Duke Kahanamoku. In 2024 it's all about the wave. Teahupo'o in Tahiti is easily one of the most dangerous waves in the world. 8 of these will be presented in Tahiti and Paris to various world leaders and IOC directors. All made in HB!

What an honor to create the Lifetime Achievement Award for legendary surfboard shaper Renny Yater. Awarded at this year's Santa Barbara Film Festival. 92 years young and still doing his thing! The sculpture depicts Kemp Aaberg at Rincon. I hope I'm still doing my thing at 92.

Our Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center here in HB is incredible! They rescue and rehabilitate all kinds of critters. Lately they have been taking in lots of sick pelicans. They could use our help feeding them.

About the piece. It's my Huntington Beach Pier sculpture mounted on an actual 8"x8" tile from our beloved Ruby's. Laser etched on a piece of mahogany below the sculpture is: Ruby's Diner Roof Tile-Huntington Beach Pier-1996-2021. I only made 2 of these. The other is staying in my collection.

It's that time again my peeps! These are the trophies Im building for the 2024 Skateboarding Hall of Fame inductions. I'll be spending 1-2 weeks to produce 34 of these.This year it's on May 30th at Van's Headquarters. I understand there are still a few tix for sale. It's a special night for sure. In case you didn't know I started skateboarding in the 60s on metal wheels. Graduated to clay then urethane. I wasn't a 70s trick skater. I rode pools, skateboard parks and drainage ditches. I trespassed a lot! Even then I was a rebel. I lined up in the shallow end of a few illegal pools with the Dog Town crew. I was 70s surf/skate rat for sure!
