Due to limited factory documentation, not all items are available for all cars. Some cars - in particular 1983 models (VINs 15000-20105) - no information has yet been discovered.

Former DeLorean Motor Company Chief Financial Officer Walt Strycker passes away at 95 on January 16, 2024.

In June of 1981, the first shipment of DeLoreans left the Quality Assurance Center in Long Beach, California for dealerships. The late C.R. Brown, VP of Sales & Marketing for DMC at the time, made sure this event was memorialized.

On this day in 1981, Samuel Schuster of Los Angeles, California purchased a new 1981 DeLorean - VIN 2178, black interior with an automatic transmission - from the Beverly Hills DeLorean dealership on Wilshire Boulevard. Anyone know where this car is today?

The Museum has been very behind on fulfilling VIN History items including window stickers, original owner certificates and warranty cards due to limited volunteer availability and facility access due to workplace distancing as a result of COVID-19. We hope to have all outstanding orders filled within the next 1-2 weeks. We appreciate everyone's patience as we get back to a normal production schedule.

Here's an interesting article on one of the privately gold-plated DeLoreans, and how it was done. The whereabouts of the car, VIN 1542, are currently unknown, though it was last known to be in Canada in the 80s.

A dive into the factory drawings yesterday - here's a drawing that is simply a visualization of the lambda counter and inertia switch installation. The inertia switch was later moved from this position to be away from the pedals and over by the hood release handle.

As many already know, the Museum shares space with the DeLorean Motor Company's Texas location. Due to the large number of visitors from around the US and abroad that come to DMC and in light of recent health concerns, they have closed their showroom (and access to our display) to the public until further notice.
