Join the East Lycoming Historical Society for our annual picnic on Monday, June 15th at 6pm!

We’re excited to welcome featured speaker Sue Sprout, who will be sharing fascinating insights into older medicinal treatments and remedies used throughout our region’s history. Her presentation will tie in perfectly with the museum’s pharmacy display, featuring vintage medicine and drug bottles from years gone by.

Come enjoy good food, local history, and a wonderful afternoon of learning and fellowship with us. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, curious about old-time medicine, or simply looking for a fun community event, we’d love to see you there! 🧺♥️🚂

The Jersey Central Railroad was a subsidiary of the Reading Railroad. It made regularly scheduled runs from New York City to Atlantic City New Jersey. The most famous of these trains was the beautiful "Blue Comet" with it's striking blue paint scheme. Recently she made her summer visit to Hughesville and will be stationed at the East Lycoming Historical Society on Main Street. All of the passenger car names have something in common. Perhaps if you study the photos you'll be able determine which trait they all share.
Extra credit if you can figure out which one is the Diner car. :-)
