This marker, along with a 1870's log cabin is situated close to a walking trail on "THE DITCH" of Silver City.

The San Miguel festival was last week end. San Miguel was a small ranch and farming community about twenty-five miles west of Truth or Consequences in the Palomas valley. Around 1910 the resdient began the construction of a church. They buillt it high atop a hill overlooking the community, it stands there today as a monument to those sufficiantly stout-hearted to make the climb atop the hill. The church structure is in the form of a coffin, as a reminder to all of their approaching death. However on the last Sunday of September, the patronishers retun to honor their patron, San Miguel. Tommy Sullivan will provide pictures of the San Miguel festivities held on Sept 30, 2012.
