Hope and Sunrise Historical and Mining Museum The Hope and Sunrise Historical and Mining Museum chronicles the colorful past of two goldrush towns in south-central Alaska.

HSHS is a non-profit museum preserving the history of Resurrection and Six Mile valleys. We are open Memorial Day to Labor Day from noon to 4pm. All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. Federal grant funding from the Kenai Mountains-Turnagain Arm Heritage Area helps keep our doors open.

The museum is a looking for a gently used TV. We show popular locally made videos on different aspects of Hope and regional history in the Quonset hut on the museum grounds. Ours is dying. It is 42” x 24”. Thank you!

We had a wonderful day welcoming the Kenai Peninsula Historical Association to Hope today for the spring meeting. More than 30 people came to share updates and stories of Seward, Hope & Sunrise, Cooper Landing, Kenai, Soldotna, Nikiski, Homer and all the places in between (and beyond).
