This week is a big one for the Village! From Tuesday the 25th through Saturday the 29th, we will be open during the Hookstown Fair, from noon to 8 pm!
After admiring the livestock in the Stockmen's and 4H barns or watching a class or two at the horse arena, take a quick detour north to stroll through history!
The historical village will have blacksmithing and artisan demonstrations, brick oven cookies, and a number of local historians who play a role in our community and in our local history. Visit the one-room school house, log cabin, general store, doctor's office, working oil well pump house, and the bank barn with displays in both the upper and lower areas.
If you've ever desired a return to the simple life, you can become a member for only $10 annual dues!
We hope to see you there!

Come to see us during the Hookstown Fair, August 25-29. All buildings will be open and staffed. Several artisans and blacksmiths will be working daily, and the outdoor oven will be baking breads and cookies.

The village is open this Saturday, July 11. A huge thank-you to everyone who participated in our June America 250: Celebrate the Horse event! It was a wonderful day for everyone!

This Saturday!! The weather should be beautiful. The horses and carriages are ready. We hope you are joining us to celebrate the importance of the horse in this country's history.
There is plenty of parking across the road from the fairground's main gate; if you park there, you can enjoy the car show on display inside the main gate as you make your way down to the historical village and the horse arena. If you need parking nearer the village, Gate 6 will be open with parking above the bank barn or the camping area.
Musicians are coming, and the chuck wagon is stocked for lunch -- including homemade pies! Special programming includes Horse Shoeing at 11 a.m., Work Horses at 12 p.m., and Mustangs at 1 p.m., followed by a Road Apple 50/50 beginning at 2 p.m. Carriage and wagon rides throughout the day. Special displays and presentations in each building. Come one, come all! Visit the historical village for this America 250 event.
