Linda here, just back from Lake Clark National Park where I watched mama brown bears fishing! Notice the little cubs on the shore while mom dives for salmon! This is Crescent Lake where the water is crystal clear, glacial blue. With every purchase, you send me on a trip to photograph wildlife and I am ever grateful.

Sticks and Stones is known for colorwashed pieces with a nod to country style, but one of the pieces, a coffee table, featured handles designed like waves. Years later, I wanted to move in a new direction towards letting the natural materials speak. These pieces represent first steps in that direction. The wave shapes are the only adornment, and there are only the natural colors of the materials.

Furniture manufacturers tone wood to hide imperfections. The walnut in these pieces is from a local woodlot and the imperfection is the beauty.

Shapes are deliberately simple and balanced; cubes are the foundation, and the waves, made of a different material, soften the modern aesthetic. This is an exploratory foray into modern style.

Ashley has prints of this painting titled "Journey Through the Dark" come check it out at Made in the Gorge.

"I painted it while recovering from a mountain biking accident that left me with a broken arm. For months I had to rehab my arm and shoulder and it felt like my world became very small. Just short journeys between home and my physical therapist. But I leaned into painting and spending time in my garden, just taking in the beauty at home. Through the healing process I gained a new sense of resilience and found a way to light my world when the old ways had to be put on hold."
