A familiar stretch of shoreline, beautifully captured. 🌊

For anyone who has spent a morning at Lanikai, Matt Coffman's Two By Two at Lanikai evokes the special beauty of this beloved Oʻahu beach.

Two colorful outrigger canoes rest along the shoreline, the turquoise waters of Lanikai shimmer in the distance, and the iconic Mokulua Islands sit beneath a dramatic island sky.

Some works of art deserve more than a passing glance. 🌸

This exquisite piece by Shelly Choy of Paiko Ridge Studio is one of them.

Titled Mala Pua Lei Poʻo, the artwork celebrates the beauty of a floral lei poʻo through an intricate combination of artistic techniques.

Shelly begins with intaglio printmaking, then introduces watercolor and hand embroidery to bring the blossoms to life, then adds embossing to the ties to add a finishing touch. Look carefully at the close-up photographs and you'll discover delicate threads extending from the flowers, fine botanical details and subtle layers of texture that simply cannot be appreciated from a distance.

The result is a beautifully nuanced work that rewards a closer look, revealing the patience, imagination and extraordinary craftsmanship behind its creation.

This framed artist proof measures 21" × 21" and is currently available at Magnolia.

A little underwater magic has arrived at Magnolia! 🌊

Hawaiʻi Island glass artist Heather Mettler has a remarkable way of bringing the ocean to life through glass.

Her newest pieces feature some of our favorite marine creatures—dolphins, sea turtles, and a wonderfully expressive octopus—rendered in delicate sand-etched designs against beautiful shades of blue and turquoise.

Heather's work is especially captivating because of the relationship between the etched imagery and the glass itself. The frosted designs contrast with the smooth, luminous surfaces, while the depth of color and changing light bring movement and dimension to each piece.

Some are small enough to tuck into a favorite corner or display on a shelf, while others make beautiful sculptural accents.

Ginger Leong's colorful top and shorts bring all the joyful energy of island style, while a charming anthurium hair clip by MaiMaiMade Hawaiʻi adds a playful finishing touch.

Meet our newest artist at Magnolia: Lovisa Oliv! 🎨🌺

Fashion, art, surf culture and island life come together in the wonderfully expressive work of Lovisa Oliv, whose fine art prints have just arrived at Magnolia.

Originally from Sweden, Lovisa studied fashion design, illustration and art in Florence, Italy, and at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Her career has taken her into the world of international fashion, where she's worked as a live fashion illustrator for celebrated houses including Dior, Armani and Valentino.

That fashion background is unmistakable in her artwork. Her figures are graceful and confident, her compositions spontaneous, and her colors vibrant without feeling overworked.

In this reel, you'll see a selection of her prints celebrating Hawaiʻi's surf culture, tropical beauty and relaxed island lifestyle. From nostalgic beach scenes to striking portraits and playful illustrations, each has its own distinctive personality.

We're excited to bring Lovisa's fresh artistic perspective to Magnolia's collection of Hawaiʻi-inspired art.

Please join us in welcoming a wonderful new artist to the Magnolia ʻohana—Lovisa Oliv! 🌺🎨

We're always excited to discover artists who bring a fresh perspective to our collection, and Lovisa's work immediately caught our attention.

Originally from Sweden, Lovisa studied fashion design, illustration and art in Florence, Italy, and at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Her artistic career has taken her around the world, including work as a live fashion illustrator for internationally renowned fashion houses such as Dior, Armani and Valentino.

Today, her artwork reflects a beautiful fusion of those experiences—fashion, art, surf culture and the relaxed elegance of island life.

Working primarily in watercolor, Lovisa has developed a distinctive contemporary style characterized by vibrant color, confident lines and an effortless simplicity. Her compositions feel spontaneous yet sophisticated, capturing personality, movement and the spirit of Hawaiʻi without unnecessary detail.

We're especially drawn to the way her fashion background influences her artistic interpretation of island life, creating images that feel both playful and refined.
