Linda Murphy

Originally from Spring Lake, New Jersey, Linda Murphy has lived in Honesdale, Pennsylvania since 1993. Working in oil and pastel, Linda has found inspiration in the countryside since childhood, when her family would vacation in New England, New York State and Pennsylvania. “I’ve always loved the rolling hills of this part of the country and the simplicity of country life. Something as simple as the beauty of a hillside farm in the morning mist takes my breath away. ” Linda is especially drawn to farmland and the farmer’s humble dedication to their land and animals. “I want to communicate the value in the life they have chosen. Whether it be a painting of a farm landscape - or of a particular friendly cow or goat that I stop to pet by the roadside – there is beauty in that way of life. In the end – I want my paintings to make people smile.”
