Talcott Harmon Parkhurst (1883-1952) ‘Wovoka Indian Messiah - Ghost Dance Religion” bromoil gelatin silver print photograph. Parkhurst was an important Western photographer who worked for the Smithsonian and the Museum of New Mexico. Large original print measuring 19 5/8 x 15 3/8. Very good condition. Upper left corner chipped and a smaller chips to other corners. All covered by new archival matting. A few small scrapes you can see. Signed by the photographer lower right. Period oak frame measures 31 1/4 x 23 inches. Price on Request.

Original “The new sports craze - MOTORCYCLE POLO broadside. Original 1930s poster advertising a match of the New England Ramblers versus the New England Tigers. Cardbpard broadside measuring 22 1/2 x 18. Mostly excellent condition. Some chips as seen. $475 obo.

Motorcycle polo came to America in the late 1920s and these teams were some of the tops in America. Famous racer Walter Brown was a member of the Ramblers team that won the championships in 1932.

Brenda Belfield (b 1948) Abstract floral landscape painting. Acrylic on canvas measuring 28 x 34 inches. Signed lower right. Excellent as painted condition. Painted white wood slat frame. Asking $995 OBO.

Belfield is a wonderful abstract and architectural stained glass artist. Her paintings have been exhibited across America and her stained glass are in important places including the National Cathedral in Washington DC.

Donald Stoltenberg (1927-2016) Abstract Expressionist painting. Wonderful 1950s oil on paper measuring 10 5/8 x 15 1/4 inches. Signed lower right. Estate stamp verso as well. Excellent condition. Unframed. Asking $500

Stoltenberg studied at the Institute of Design under Emerson Woelffer and this is some of his very early work inspired by Woelffer. He went on to get into Industrial Design studying under Raymond Loewy. His work is collected and in museums throughout the world. This work comes from the artists estate and his early works are rare to find.

As happens in this business, sometimes when I find a painting by an artist more end up showing up in my world.

I just picked up 3 more Fred MacNeill paintings from a corporate account that was redecorating. That makes 4 of his finest works I have in inventory (see previous post). A great chance if you want to make a presentation in your home or office of this excellent work.

1. “Lebanon morning”. Wonderful large oil on Masonite measuring 30 x 30 inches. Signed lower right. Original linen lined frame measuring 39 3/4 x 39 3/4 inches. Ready to hang. Asking $1575.

2. “Afternoon shadow”. Oil on Masonite measuring 16 x 24 inches. Signed Lower right. Original linen lined frame measuring 24 3/4 x 33 inches. Asking $675.

3. “Winters wall”. Oil on Masonite measuring 24 x 16 inches. Signed Lower right. Original linen lined frame measuring 33 x 24 3/4 inches. Asking $675.

Anyone looking for that big painting for that one wall? Wonderful original Fred MacNeill Cape Ann New England coast crashing waves painting. MacNeill was a 20th Century artist who studied at the Vesper George School of Art and was a member of the Concord, Rockport, and North Shore Arts Associations.

Oil on Masonite measuring 36 x 36 inches. Signed lower center. Perfect as painted condition. Original linen lined frame that measure 46 1/2 x 46 1/2 inches. Really a stunning painting if you have the right wall.

Shipping will be difficult. Happy to work out delivery in the New England area and even parts of New York and New Jersey. Could meet at Brimfield for pick up also.

Original 1971 Andre Marere ‘Corps Tatoue’ collage. Marere is a very important Tahiti artist. Born in France to Polynesian parents he arrived in Tahiti as a 14 year old and began exhibiting in the Winkler Gallery in the early 1970s. This is one of those pieces. Exhibited in the 1971 Biennale de Collages this is a wonderful cut sticky paper and felt paper collage on a yellow backing. Measuring 26 x 22 3/4 inches it is in excellent as created condition. Original frame and even has the original exhibition price list verso. Acquired from a local estate that bought it at the exhibition in Tahiti in 1971. Really a very special find. Price on Request.

Paul Charavel (1877-1961) “The Bay of Pampelonne” painting. Oil on canvas laid on wood measuring 13 x 16 1/4 inches. Signed and dated August 1948 lower right. Outstanding condition. Original high end frame with French gallery label verso. One of the finest works by this important French Impressionist.

Ken Eberts (b 1943) original paintings of classic cars. Eberts is one of the most important automotive artists and is the founder and president of the Automotive Fine Arts Society. Got his career started at Ford in 1965 and was named their Centennial Artist in 2003 following Norman Rockwell who was named in 1953.

1. “1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham”. Gouache on paper measuring 9 x 12 1/2 inches. Signed lower right. Original frame and label verso.

2. 1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible. Gouache on paper measuring 9 x 12 inches. Signed lower right. Original frame and label verso.

Both paintings were created for Charles Cawley, founder of MBNA and were painted in front of his home in Delaware. Both have some Christmas presents or decorations present. Excellent original paintings.

Original 1790 John Hancock Thanksgiving Proclamation as Governor of Massachusetts. Measures about 19 x 14 inches with original note about it being found and framed in 1860. Overall very good condition. Slight discoloration to side margins and some small edge tears and chips. Price on Request.

Josephine Lemos Reichmann (1864-1938) “Gloucester Harbor”. Reichmann was an important Chicago artist whose finest works were the paintings she did when she summered in Massachusetts and studied with Charles Hawthorne. Oil on panel measuring 9 x 10 inches. Signed lower right. Excellent condition. Period frame that might be original but has a small label verso that titles a different painting. Price on Request.
