Headed to the Kentucky State Fair tomorrow? Be sure to visit with Larry Elliott, a multi-time winner of our annual look-alike contest. He'll be at the LaRue County Chamber's booth in the South Wing on Saturday, August 22 and 29 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Mr. Elliott has family ties to LaRue County and does a fantastic job greeting and inviting people to Visit Hodgenville every chance he can!

Lincoln Museum Charter Member, Jim Shaw, Sr., hosted a tour with Karen and William Mclaren who are visiting Hodgenville from Perth, Scotland. A fourth-generation beef cattle farmer, Mclaren’s Aberdeen Angus herd spans 102 years. He is serving as judge for the LaRue County Fair’s beef cattle show on Saturday, August 1 beginning at 10 am. Mclaren has served as a beef cattle judge in 19 different countries.

Fun Fact: Scotland is home to the first statue of Abraham Lincoln erected outside of the United States. Known as the Scottish-American Soldiers Monument, it is located in the Old Calton Cemetery in Edinburgh. Learn more about Lincoln’s global impact in the museum’s Global Lincoln video exhibit shown daily from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
