A little behind-the-scenes joy: we just unpacked a new delivery from Elisa Drumm Van Auken (E. Drumm Designs) and the colors are fantastic. Elisa’s creative path began in textiles and professional color design, and today she brings that same color-first energy to hand-painted wood clocks and small lidded boxes that feel like functional folk art.
These are the kinds of pieces that make a room feel lived-in and loved—kitchen, office, entryway, gallery wall… anywhere you want a little charm.

We’re big believers in art that connects to memory, emotion — and the child within. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome a fresh collection of Laughing Moon pendulum clocks by makers Terrie Floyd and Richard Floyd. These “classic action pieces” have been delighting collectors since 1967, blending joyful folk art with kinetic movement.

We’ve long loved the work of Philippa Roberts because it has a rare ability to connect across generations — timeless design that never feels trendy, just right.
Born in South Africa and raised in a jewelry-making family, she later earned a BFA in Metal Design and Photography and built her studio in California. Her pieces are known for simple organic shapes and beautifully cut gemstones, and her goal is exactly what we look for in gallery jewelry: “beautiful, simple, wearable, and most importantly, timeless.”

We’re excited to spotlight Dickinson Woodworking — a maker whose work hits that sweet spot of useful, durable, and beautiful. Years ago, we shared a thought that still rings true: many serious craftspeople are conservationists at heart, valuing their materials too much to waste them. Dickinson Woodworking grew from that spirit, turning leftover wood from furniture-making into kitchenware that’s thoughtfully designed and genuinely satisfying to own.
From cutting boards and end-grain boards to patterned pieces and serving boards, these are the kinds of tools that make everyday cooking feel a little more special.

A beautiful story sits behind every Cate & Levi puppet.
Founder Josh Title left corporate law to create meaningful, responsibly made toys inspired by the birth of his son. With a crafter for a mother and a small‑business father, he blended both worlds to build something extraordinary.
Today, each puppet is handmade in Toronto from reclaimed wool, upcycled materials, or soft polar fleece — thoughtfully sourced and full of personality. No two are ever alike.
These puppets are imaginative, expressive, and ready to become someone’s favorite storytelling companion.
Now available at Smith Galleries, owned by Jean and Wally Smith, on Hilton Head Island. Come choose the one that speaks to you.

There’s a reason handcrafted birdhouses never stay on our shelves for long. People don’t just buy them — they fall in love with them. This new collection from Historic Woods blends timeless craftsmanship with designs that make your garden feel alive.
Each piece is built to last, made with care, and designed to welcome wrens, bluebirds, and chickadees, and more. Customers tell us these birdhouses become the “happy spot” in their yard — the place they look at every morning.
If you’ve been thinking about adding something beautiful and meaningful to your outdoor space, now is the perfect moment. We received a limited shipment, and once these are gone, it may be months before we can get more.
Come see them in person at Smith Galleries.
