Here's today's art:"Mermaid." I have several wooden fish and one had a curved tail - so I cut it in half to make the lower part of my mermaid. Her wooden bead bodice supports her curtain ring arms and her perfect metal spoon shell scepter (thanks Candice and Martha!). Her red wire hair floats upward out of her metal bath soap ball mold crown. She's sitting on half of a metal salad tong that I inserted into a wooden base that I put together. Real seaweed and metal starfish (thanks Barbara!) decorate the sea floor.

I have been behind in posting my art. Here's a piece I finished recently: Save Our Planet. This girl is realizing that we all need to do everything we can to save our Earth before it's too late. Her heavy mailing tube legs are strong enough to hold up her lovely globe body, surround by a band of metal stars. Her wooden ring and dowel arms hold a toothpick sun and a string of some of the things that need our attention: birds, flowers, clouds, trees, and fish.

Today's art" Spring Chicken." A few months ago, I made a piece called "Watch Dog" - a dog covered in old watches. I started to try to think of another play on words and came up with "Spring Chicken." I had a damaged metal body of a duck or chicken - no head, tail, wings, beak, comb, or feet. I attached hundreds of old springs and created wings, tail, etc. from old pieces of metal. I had the feet from some earlier project.
