Good News Arts brings together Artists and Community in an effort to engage in creative and cultural output while working towards a more equitable and just society.
Good News Arts and our Summer Arts camp is entering into holiday mode this week but we will be back next week for more Summer Arts Camp joy and more programming in the gallery.

We’re entering week two of our summer arts camp and we are so excited by the creativity of our kiddos!
We want to thank the Children’s Trust of Alachua County for their support in providing more than 80% of our campers scholarships to attend this camp!
We also want to thank the many community members who have contributed and supported our camp through donations of materials, snacks, and more!

Jacksonville based artist, Brit Webber (), will join us today to talk about her work at 4pm in the gallery. This talk will be followed by a reception till 7pm - all FREE and open to the public!
🎨About the work:
I approach my work as play in the sense that I am always in pursuit of the perfect expression of an idea. Is it a mark made in haste to express brevity? Or one that takes more time and care to craft in an eort to express the passage of time or growth? Maybe a sharp, thin line that cuts over, through, or behind to express heightened energy? Or one thick and bold enough to cover every other line that came before it to express stature and triumph? In asking questions such as these, I’m feeding my curiosity about the many ways that we can capture the essence of an idea and how we can then use this to suspend ideas in space and time, giving them tangible form.
🎨About the Artist:
Brit Webber is a Florida-based visual artist whose work explores the ways in which we capture the essence of ideas through marks, colors and compositions. Her work is largely influenced by the conceptual foundations of architectural design, graphic design, and pattern making and although she works primarily in acrylic, she often infuses other media such as graphite, oil pastels, and ink to emphasize contrasting ideas or details.

We’re excited for our second ‘Too Cool For School - Banned Book club’ at 6pm today! Our theme today is “magical changed and childhood”!
📚The Too Cool for School - Banned Book Club will meet every 1st Thursday at 6pm at Good News Arts.

📚The Book Club is Open to all ages and we encourage parents to attend and reflect alongside their children.
📚The Book club will begin with 30 minutes of reading and reflecting on pictures books, ideal for ages 4-8.
📚The following hour will be reading from a chapter book ideal for ages 8-12.
