That river is at it again. Come by and see me this weekend. I’ll be hanging out in my usual spot. Be sure to follow me on Instagram .
Update 5/23/19 4:15 p.m.
We want to give you an update on our current road conditions. Yes, we are going to have some flooding, but we are prepared to host you. This is not our first flood!
At this time, the river is projected to crest at 33.5, Saturday morning, at 1:00 a.m.
From Kansas City or St. Louis:
The BEST way to travel to Hermann is I-70 to Exit 175 which is Highway 19. This will bring you right in to Hermann, crossing the Missouri River Bridge. At the stop sign, you can turn left on to First Street/Highway 100, or you can continue on Highway 19/Market Street.
From Rolla/Springfield:
I-44 to Highway 19 North. There “should” be no issues coming in to town. BUT, be aware of what color level Hermann is at. If Hermann is at BLUE Level, you will need to exit LEFT on to Epple Road from Highway 19.
We are not at ANY of these levels YET. But, we will likely be at the Green Route, Friday morning, at 7:00 a.m. You may not need any of these routes, depending on what your plans are!
Green Route at 32.29 (+/-) Flood Level
This level closes the bridge at Market Street/Highway 19, by Hermann Ford.
It is the red square on the map.
Projected closing: Friday, May 24, 7:00 a.m.
The Green Route:
From Missouri River Bridge at First Street and Highway 19/Market Street by Hermann Welcome Center.
South on Market Street/Highway 19
Right on 5th Street
Left on Mozart
Right on 6th
Left on Washington
Right on 13th Street/Goethe
Purple Route at 33.6 (+/-) Flood Level
This level closes Highway 100, east of Hermann Farm, by Kallmeyer Trucking.
It is the orange square on the map.
The Green Route is still accessible at this level.
The Purple Route:
From Highway 100/1st Street by Hermann Farm
Reserve Street
Right on 2nd Street
Left on Gellert Street
Right on 10th Street
Left on Schieffer’s Branch Road
Right on 12th Street
Left on Gutenberg Street
Right on Highway H
Right on Highway 19/Market Street
We are not expecting to have to use the Blue Route. If we get to this level, we will post a google map. Again, if you can avoid coming this route, it is best. We recommend going I-70 to Exit 175 which is the Highway 19 exit.
Blue Route at 34.1 (+/-) Flood Level
This level closes the intersection of Highway 19 and Highway 100, just south of Hardee’s.
It is the yellow square on the map.
The Green Route is still accessible.
The Purple Route MAY be accessible, if Reserve Street is still open and Schieffer’s Branch Road is still open.
The Blue Route:
From Washington/Highway 100 West Exit on I-44:
Continue on Highway 100 through Washington.
Continue on Highway 100 through New Haven.
Continue on Highway 100, 7 more miles to Highway Z.
Turn left on to Highway Z, follow for 15 miles.
Turn right on to Highway 19, follow for 1.5 miles.
Turn left on to Epple Road, follow for 1.6 miles.
Turn right on to Old Iron Road, follow for 1.8 miles.
Turn right on to Highway 100 East, follow for 3.6 miles to Goethe Street.
Note: We will do our BEST to keep you updated on the road conditions. If MODOT deems a road unsafe, they may close it before the flood level listed.
Our businesses are OPEN and we look forward to seeing you in Hermann!
