Listening today to an excellent book Founding Gardeners:; The Revolutionary Generation, Nature, and the Shaping of the American Nation. A customer at the Philadelphia Flower Show told me about it as I mentioned visiting Bartram’s Garden created by the 18th century plantsmen the Bartrams. They brought a flowering tree from the Altamaha River in Georgia along whose banks my family lived from the 18th till the 20th centuries. They named it Franklinia Altamaha after their friend Benjamin Franklin. When the founders needed a break, they often visited Bartrams Nursery. We visited Bartram’s Garden several years ago and saw the Franklinia that still grows there. So I made a Franklinia Faerie for this year’s Philadelphia Flower show where the theme was “Rooted: The Origins of American Gardening” Philadelphia Flower Show Curls Sculpture

It’s the last day of the Philadrlphia Flower Show in the Convention Center. The show is beautiful and nearly all my new Show-themed designs for Rooted” have found homes!!

Three of my faeries will be featured in the show garden designed by Susan Browne Landscape Design and Fancy Plants by James Sprague at the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival. I will have faeries for you to take home with you in my booth # 1015. Hope to see you there between Feb 18-22 at the Seattle Convention Center.

This garden designed by Landen Moore of Nature Perfect featured 30 of my faeries in 2024 and won Best of Show. My faeries will be dancing in my Booth # 1016 at the NW Flower and Garden Festival this year.

Last year a number of my Hibiscus and Enchantment faeries danced in a New Orleans. Inspired garden by Susan Browne and James Sprague. Different faeries will dance in their 2026 garden and I’ll have lots go faeries for you to adopt in Booth 1016.

All the new designs for the Philadelphia Flower Show where the theme is “Rooted.” They include Own Root Rose Faeries, Leaf Root and Mushroom Root (truffles too) Faeries, an Elegant Root Faerie, Magnolia and Franklinia Faeries, an Emerging Fern Ballerina , and a Stumpery Faerie. All these are “tiny”, are 10-12 inches. Most are $95 but the more complex are $125-145. There are also a few big (22-25”) rose, leaf and mushroom faeries. Philadelphia Flower Show
