Wren Watercolor Hello! I want to share my love of watercolor with you and bring color and joy into your home.

šŸ‚ I’m loving everything about fall right now! šŸ

I had so much fun painting this little fall scene — a bright red barn, a colorful barn quilt, pumpkins, chickens, and of course… a few cats sneaking into the picture. šŸˆšŸŽƒšŸ“

I’ve always thought barn quilts are such a fun way to add the perfect pop of color and charm to a barn, and I couldn’t resist putting my own watercolor spin on one. ā¤ļø

This original watercolor is available in my Etsy shop, Wren Watercolor. You can find it through the link in my bio!

But before you go… did you spot all the cats in the finished painting? šŸˆšŸˆā€ā¬› How many did you find?

I’m SO happy Oklahoma finally decided to give us some cooler weather! šŸ‚šŸ

I started dreaming about fall and painting pumpkins back when we were still dealing with triple-digit temperatures. šŸ˜‚šŸŽƒ I always look forward to painting pumpkins and all things fall each year. There’s just something about this season that makes me want to grab my paints and create!

If you like what you see, feel free to check out my Etsy shop, Wren Watercolors. Most of these paintings are listed there and available for purchase. There’s a link in my bio! šŸ’›

Most of all, I hope you all have a happy, cozy, colorful fall! šŸ‚šŸŽƒšŸ

I was so excited for this order to come in so I could print it! 🄰

I’ve been so impressed with my Canon PRO-310 and how beautifully it captures the details, colors, and feel of my original watercolor paintings. It’s pretty special to see a painting I created by hand come to life as a print. šŸŽØā™„ļø

Being able to print in-house gives me the opportunity to keep a close eye on quality, offer my artwork in multiple sizes, and make sure each print feels like a true little piece of the original.

I’m so grateful I get to create art and share a little bit of that joy with others. ā™„ļø

It has been in the triple digits here in Oklahoma for weeks, with no signs of letting up. Hot, windy days and no rain have us in a drought again, and honestly, I am SO ready for fall. šŸ‚

All I can dream about right now are cooler days, pumpkins, fall flowers, Halloween, and evenings around a we**ie roast. I’ve always loved everything about autumn! Unfortunately, here in Oklahoma, our leaves often get burned up by the heat before they ever have a chance to put on their beautiful fall show.

So, while I wait for cooler weather, I decided to paint the kind of fall day I’m dreaming about. ā¤ļøšŸŽƒšŸ‚

This little country scene has a red barn, a barn quilt, pumpkins, fall flowers, a silo, a weathervane, and those big, full trees I wish we had more of in Oklahoma this time of year.

Sometimes I wonder if my landscapes look a little too whimsical or ā€œcartoonish,ā€ but maybe that’s just part of my style. It may not be for everyone, but I absolutely loved painting it—and I hope you enjoy it too! šŸ¤Ž

Are you ready for fall as much as I am?

Layers of purple, fresh greens, and one bold pop of red-orange. šŸ’œāœØ

For this little 4x6 watercolor, I chose greens with warm yellow undertones because yellow is purple’s complementary color—it keeps the painting feeling bright, fresh, and full of life. Then I couldn’t resist adding a few red-orange stripes for that extra spark of color.

And, of course, no painting session is complete without my favorite studio assistant. 🐈 Cookie always manages to find her way into the middle of the creative process… usually with her tail in the paint or directly in front of the camera. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Which detail catches your eye first—the purple blooms, the bright stripes, or Cookie’s surprise appearance? šŸ’œ

From an ink drawing to vibrant watercolor blooms… 🌸✨

Every painting begins as a simple line drawing before watercolor brings it to life. Watching those bold black lines transform into colorful florals never gets old, and I hope you enjoy the reveal as much as I enjoyed creating each one.

Which transformation is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! šŸŽØšŸ’

🌸 A collection of some of my favorite watercolor paintings from the past few years. Creating loose floral watercolors has become one of my favorite ways to capture color, movement, and the beauty found in everyday blooms.

Each piece begins with hand-painted watercolor and is inspired by my love of bright, cheerful florals. If you enjoy colorful artwork and would like to see more of my collection, I’d love for you to visit my website, Wren Watercolor. You can also browse my artwork and gifts in my Etsy shop—both links are available in my bio.

Thank you for following along on this creative journey! šŸŒ·šŸŽØ
