We had a lot of rain last night and Johnson Air Field has been turned into Johnson Lake for a few days. Our Board Director Peter Leonard grabbed a few pictures this morning while checking on the museum for us to enjoy.

We continue to make improvements in the museum every week. We had some nice quality WW2 artwork donated in September which has been put up in that area. Also included were about 8 nice models of corporate airplanes which we put in the general aviation display cabinet. This week, I put LED lights in the 99 and general aviation cabinets which you can see in the picture.

We wish to thank everyone who stopped by the museum this past Labor Day weekend. We didn't have large crowds which made it more pleasant for those who attended and many people enjoyed their personal tours of the museum.

Due to weather forecasts for tomorrow, Scenic Helicopters will not be flying Monday Sept. 7th, 2026 from WNC Air Museum. There will be more opportunities to fly with them in the future and we will keep you posted. Here is a short video of them taking off from the museum today for another site seeing tour.

Just had a ride with Scenic Helicopters at WNC Air Museum, what a trip. Things are really looking crowded at the Hendersonville Apple Festival. When you want a break come to the museum and relax among the planes.

We are getting ready for a great weekend at WNN Air Museum. Venders are setting up and visitors are starting to arrive. Plenty of easy parking and not so crowded so please come and join us for awhile.

Hey everyone, we have a new website. Western North Carolina Air Museum is now located at wncam.org . We have lots of new content including historic documents from the beginning of the Hendersonville airport with its founder, Oscar Meyer. We also have pictures from the Hurricane Helene recovery and much more. And better yet, the site is going to keep growing.

The Spirit of St. Louis landed in the museum after its great tour in the Hendersonville parade. It is now part of our General Aviation exhibit.

Steve Lyons and I were invited by the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce to speak about our museum this morning at the Business Morning Update. Here is one of the videos we played. We put the parade pictures to good use at the end.
