Carolina Mountain Artists Guild

Carolina Mountain Artists Guild We're a juried group of local artists who create and sell our handcrafted items in a store in downtown Hendersonville, North Carolina.

The store is open seven days a week and there’s always an artist on duty. Carolina Mountain Artists Guild is a non-profit gallery that is operated by a group of local juried artists. Guild members share the responsibilities of running and staffing the store, and there is always an artist on duty. We're open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. Our store features local, handcrafted, decorative and funct

ional art, including Ceramics and Pottery; Decorative Painted Wood Pieces and Furniture; Folk Art; Forged Metal; Gourd Art; Greeting Cards and Paper Art; Calligraphy; Handwoven Baskets and Brooms; Jewelry; Paintings; Photography; Stained Glass; Textile and Fabric Art, including Quilting, Knitting, Crochet, and Wall Art; Wood, including Woodturning, Carvings, Lazy Susans and Cutting Boards. We are a Guild, not a consignment store. When you are accepted into our membership, you become a member of the Guild. We accept new members throughout the year. All members of the Guild are responsible for running the store in some capacity, either serving as cashier or volunteering in some other way. We do not have paid staff. This is how we keep costs down and are able to utilize profits for upkeep and upgrades to the store. To be considered for membership, your art must be handcrafted and different from anything already offered in our store. If you wish to submit your art to our jury committee to be considered for membership, please stop by our store to pick up an application.

In case you missed our announcement in June...

Luggage Racks are back!

These stylish and functional luggage racks have always been popular, but they disappeared for a bit when the woodcrafter who made them moved out of state. Recently, one of our newer woodcrafters started making them, and we're happy to report we have luggage racks back in stock!

Be sure to stop by our shop at 444 North Main Street in downtown Hendersonville, NC, to check them out, along with all of our locally handcrafted, one-of-a-kind items!

It's time to meet our August Featured Artist!

Fiber Artist, Jo-Ann Jensen

Honoring the art of traditional quilt-making, Jo-Ann creates her unique landscapes by individually hand-cutting dozens of fabrics and layering them over a batting foundation. She then uses metallic and cotton threads to machine stitch each piece. Her award-winning art quilts are either framed under glass or mounted on canvas that floats inside a handmade frame or wood panel.

Jo-Ann has taught workshops in silk painting and fabric collage at the internationally known John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, and continues to teach locally. She is a member of the Art League of Henderson County and the Carolina Mountain Artists Guild.

A former art teacher, Jo-Ann relocated to Flat Rock, North Carolina, from Cape Canaveral, Florida, in 2018. She was born and raised in Manchester, Connecticut.

Be sure to stop by our shop at 444 North Main Street in downtown Hendersonville, NC, to check out Jo-Ann's beautiful fiber art landscapes in person!
