Honoring Indigenous People's Day every day with respect for the people who first loved and lived on this land. Yahwi to our friends and neighbors in the Southern Pomo (Mihilikaune) and Western Wappo (Mishewal) communities for their many significant and ongoing contributions to the art, culture and history of this region.

On Friday we had a memorable night at Oak Mound Cemetery. "Dining with the Dead" is a private dinner and unique evening of storytelling for 8 guests after hours in the historic Healdsburg graveyard. Friday was hosted by me (Director/Curator Holly Hoods), Board members Patrick Mukaida and Susan Sheehy of Healdsburg Museum and assisted by Jim Kmiecik. Clay Green, another helpful Board member, arranged for us to have an ADA-accessible porta-potty on site, which we all appreciated.

The delicious multi-course dinner was catered by Patrick, paired with exceptional w**es from Robert Young Estate W**ery in a spooky elegant setting created by Susan Sheehy. I recounted a historic local true crime story with connections to the graveyard. Talented staff member Ebba de la Rosa created a handsome map and program for my story. This unique experience was a live auction item, won at the History Lives Dinner by the Jane Rosenberg and Steve Deas family. It raised money for the Museum, cemetery restoration and was a really good time! Thanks to cemetery owner Sarah Hellums for permission to do it.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Russian River W**e Road! They sure know how to throw a delicious party. The Healdsburg Museum brought a popup w**e history display to today's wonderful celebration at Foppiano Vineyards. We brought along a few treasures from the Sonoma County W**e Library too, including early W**e Road maps. The 1976 map shows a few original w**eries that participated in the W**e Road promotion from the beginning. Four of these founding w**eries attended the 50th anniversary event, so I made sure to congratulate them on their longevity and photograph them with the first map. Our Museum is also celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. Cheers to the next 50 years! **eroad50 **eroad **elibrary
