The Lock House is featured in the Harford Magazine section of the Baltimore Sun today along with Beach Bee Yoga which, incidentally, is holding yoga classes at the Lock House on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Now, all we need is Battery Island Brewing to partner with us too on something and it will be a complete story!

Congrats to HdG businesses Beachbee Yoga, Battery Island Brewing, and the Lock House Museum for the wonderful articles in the Harford Magazine, part of today's Baltimore Sun.

2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the C&O Canal joining the National Park Service and we are very honored to create a flavor honoring the park and it's history!

The results are in, and you guys let us know that "Mule Food" was the flavor you wanted!

This flavor idea was inspired by the mules who worked along the canal-- the oatmeal cookies represent oats, the mules main food, and the chocolate flakes represent their hoof marks along the towpath.

We will have the very first batch ready for you NEXT WEEK!!!

We want welcome all of our new friends that have started following us over the past week! Our 10th Anniversary and Earth Day are tomorrow and we still have a ways to go to reach our goal of 10,000 followers! We would love for you to spread the word as we get ready for some exciting announcements!

You help amplify our message and keep us going so that we may realize our vision for protecting and restoring the incredible wildlife diversity right here in our backyard. We couldn't have built this organization and done all of the great things we have and will accomplish without you! If each of you get just a few new friends or family members to follow our social media pages, we could easily have well over 10,000 in our online family for our birthday :) Help us continue to grow and be an even stronger voice for wildlife!

Our Story

Open seasonally April through October.

Built in 1840, the Lock House served as home to the lock tender and as the office for the toll collector of the Susquehanna and Tidewater Canal Company, which was in operation from 1840 into the 1890s. The museum tells the canal transportation history of the S & T Canal from Wrightsville, PA to Havre de Grace and life in mid-19th century America. The Lock House Museum located along the beautiful Susquehanna River in Havre de Grace, Maryland, hosts several special fundraising events, such as Craft Beer and Wine (April), Pirate Fest (June), and the Candlelight Tour and Holiday Boutique (December).
