#ThrowbackThursday This picture shows the east elevation (front) of the Keeper's House prior to the removal of additions and the start of restoration work. The Keeper's House was sold into private ownership in 1920. The property underwent significant changes and additions until restoration work began in 1988 when the City of Havre de Grace acquired the property. The Friends of Concord Point Lighthouse, which had been founded approximately a decade earlier to preserve the Lighthouse, took over the restoration project. The Keeper's House was eventually opened to the public as a museum and gift shop in 2005.

We are still open today and welcome visitors from around the world! Our hours are Saturday 10AM-2PM and Sunday 1-5PM, April - October.

On Monday 3/22 at 7pm we will be hosting an online lecture with historian Mary Rasa, as part of the week long celebration of the dedication of a Suffrage Marker here in Havre de Grace on the National Votes for Women Trail!

To reserve a spot for this FREE lecture call 410-939-3213 or email [email protected]

The topic is women lighthouse keepers. From Mary Rasa, “Families lived and worked at lighthouses. The keeper’s family learned to tend the light and some wives and daughters became the official keepers or assistant keepers. This was one of the first government career fields open to females. This program explores the US Lighthouse Service, Maryland Lighthouses and takes a look at five remarkable women keepers as well as Esther O'Neill at Concord Point.”

Mary Rasa is a historian who worked as a museum curator and park ranger for the National Park Service for 16 years. She holds a BA in Historic Preservation and a Masters in Library Science. She conducted over one thousand programs for audiences from school children to academic and professional conferences, seniors groups and historic societies. She currently conducts historic programs as well as completing grants, research and exhibit work as an independent contractor.

Does anyone know how long the holiday lights will be up for at the Lighthouse? Would like to make a trip to see them before they're taken down.
Thank you, CPL for letting me share yoga with some wonderful children in our community. It was a perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors in a safe way. 💗💗💗🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏽‍♂️💗💗💗
Stopped by the lighthouse to take some photos using my fisheye lens this past Saturday and wanted to pass along this photo of my dog Finn. He was having a very fun day.
Happy 4th of July! Just wanted to share a picture I took the other night at the fireworks. 😊
John O'Neill's cannon - the morning of November 28, 2017. I found myself wondering if this morning may have been similar to the sunrise of 3 May, 1813, when British forces attacked Havre de Grace at dawn. John O'Neill defended the town from this location, and later became the first keeper of Concord Point Lighthouse, which was built on the same point.
