If you're a frequent follower of The Switchboard, you probably noticed a month of quiet after 's incredible October Residency. We have one exciting and one bittersweet announcement to make this week:

1- We are BEYOND thrilled that Guerilla Opera (Guerilla Opera]) has joined us as our Artist in Residence for this week only to prepare for a first listen to a new, one-act opera inspired by Rose Standish Nichols. Performance is this Saturday, 12/11 at 7pm at The Switchboard. (Sidenote, the project was featured on this past Spring!!). Check out how Artistic Director Aliana de la Guardia and her company utilize their "punk rock mentality to breathe new life into a 350-year-old art form." Look out for the Guerilla Opera IG takeover this week!!

2- Guerilla Opera will be our last and final Artist in Residence at The Switchboard as Director Sarah LoVasco has decided to close the Residency chapter in downtown Haverhill. A new art space run by SJ Art Consulting () will open at 43 Washington in March of 2022, focusing on representing artists, selling work, training youth apprentices, and remaining tightly connected to our Haverhill community through our existing partnerships.

We hope that The Switchboard has played as positive a role in your life as it has in ours, and want to thank you for the support you've offered us, our families, friends, artists, musicians, and Resident Artists. Please visit our website for an expanded farewell, and to keep current on updates for the new space! We'll be utilizing this IG account through 2021.
