Join us this Sunday, September 20th from 1:30-3:00 for another "Tales From the Timeline"

Some of Havana's former residents have had a lasting impact on our community, this is one of them.

Darrel Hilst, also known as "Mr. Havana” was a lifelong Mason County resident from his beginnings in Manito, IL to his final years in Havana. He was enthusiastic about forming a committee to create an Oktoberfest in Havana as well as numerous other ventures in Havana. Like they say, behind every great man is a great woman. Darrel's wife of 47 years, Judy, is interwoven in Darrel's involvement in the community. Darrel treasured close relationships. He was a many faceted individual who cared about Havana.

We have a new item in the museum. It is a postal sorter from the Topeka General Store and Post Office.
It was in rough condition when it arrived but has been cleaned and painted. Mike Hagney, who was a postal delivery man in Havana, was kind enough to donate his postal carrier bag which completed the display!
Pictured is the Topeka Post Office it came out of.
