I hope you can join Tommy and me tomorrow evening, February 25, 2023 at the Camilla Invitational Art Expo starting at 7pm! It is held at the Camilla Chamber of Commerce building (the old railroad station) at 212 East Broad Street, in Camilla Georgia.
Tickets are $25 at the door, and include a sit down buffet meal and a wine and beer bar...and ART! Paintings, Photography, pottery, jewelry...it's all there! Come and enjoy!
The show will be open to the public with free admission Sunday through Thursday of next week.

Today is the twelfth and final day of the “Twelve Days of Christmas” I’ve been sharing with you! I hope you have enjoyed it!
This piece, “In Awe” was just completed last week! It is 20x24, oil on linen, and seemed appropriate to share today! I had the idea of an angel leaning over the baby Jesus, and came up with this plan. It went through several changes as I developed it, and I was finally happy with this. The angel seems awestruck with the little one of great destiny, and the baby seems in awe as well! This was a fun painting to create! $2500.00

This is the eleventh day of the “Twelve Days of Christmas” sharing! “Silent Night”, 9x9 oil on wood, shows the true reason for the season! Worshipers are gathered inside, with a warm glow emanating from within and reflected on the snow, representative of the glow within our hearts! Peace, love, joy, and a prayer for the salvation of humanity, are represented here. The little cardinals should be in their nests, but artistic license allowed them to stay up late!

The tenth day of the “Twelve Days of Christmas” sharing brings: “For Goodness Sake” 20x16, oil on linen…Santa Claus is coming soon! Better be good!
For me, this image captures my impression of the REAL Santa: happy, kind, and with a twinkle in his smiling eyes! The midnight star is shining brightly!

The ninth day of the “Twelve Days of Christmas” sharing brings us “Quiet Moments” at the end of a busy day! There are MANY busy days at this time of year, but it is always nice to come home and hopefully have a relaxing evening with family, friends and loved ones! They are always in our hearts if not present physically. This is an 11x11 painting on TAR PAPER! That’s right! Acrylic paint works well over tar paper…then a polyurethane glaze dissolves some of the tar, and makes an antiqued and crackled look to the painting. The eighth day of Christmas brings us “Stone Angel,” 20x16, oil on canvas. The angelic presence and assistance is very real to me. I always say a prayer to my angels who watch over me, both asking for their assistance and thanking them! I believe there is more than one assigned to me…God knew I was going to need extra help!!
I was attracted to this statue, the strong lighting and subtle shades of color in the mid-tones intrigued me. I loved the way the angel is looking at the viewer: peaceful, ever watchful, and protective! Thank you Angels!

The sixth day of sharing for the “Twelve Days of Christmas” brings you “Holly,” all dressed up for a party! Sweet innocence...her dress a little askew from playing! This was just a fun painting I did, wanting to capture the bright-eyed wonder of a child. 12x9 oil on canvas.

It's the "5th day of Christmas" sharing!
“First Love” was a painting requested several years ago by an OB/GYN doctor in Tallahassee. He wanted a painting of a mother and child to display in his waiting room. He has since retired and I now have the original again in my possession. There is no sweeter gift than the gift of a child! It seemed appropriate for the Christmas season. The painting is 16x20 oil on linen, and giclées are also available.

I tried to post this yesterday, but it never went through. :( So trying again today!
This was celebrating my 4th day of the ""12 Days of Christmas" highlights!
“L'Amour et Psyché, enfants” (often called “First Kiss”) was originally painted by William Adolphe Bouguereau in 1890. This is a copy I painted of the upper half of his painting. When I first saw this as a print in a department store I was so taken by the flesh tones and the gentle feeling of the painting that I purchased the print. I HAD to paint it! I have since painted it two or three times, but this one was my favorite, as I felt it most accurately represented Bouguereau’s style. I often think of him as my “mentor” by proxy, and I try to imitate his style in many of my own paintings. I have painted several of his other paintings as well, which hang in my home. I had giclées made of this one. The original version I painted is 20x24. This giclée is 11x14 and is framed.
