Went down to the hut today and basically just put a pieces of aluminum over the top of the bottom frame and inside the window to hold it in place to keep the water. A small cure until spring.

Would like to say what a great job camp Hastings did down at Lakeville At the presentation of Vietnam wall . 117th ,105th, Marines, and the cats meow Ladies . On the storm on Friday the 117 Fly ripped in half and here’s Harold sewing it up all by himself. The engineers fly ripped along both sides. But other than that the weekend was an absolute success so many veterans.

The little Log Village is coming up in two weeks be sure to get your names in so we can put them on the list

We have our own official flyer. Here it is that Steve Bauer and I put together.

All,

Monday, June 17th AT CAMP HASTINGS, we need a crew to remove all stuff from Hut 1, to Hut 2. Mr. Bauer is going to repair the floor in Hut 1 for us, and we need to get all the stuff out of the Hut 1. We're looking at 4-6-ish pm meet and work time, with a Pizza bash afterwards. If you can't get there until after 6, that is OK too, please come anyway - WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET!!!

Just a little update … after a 117th IR 30th Reenactors meeting recently held at Camp Hastings, there was a brief discussion (amongst attending Camp Hastings members) about reconstruction of the floor in Hut 1.

As some of you know, the wood floor in Hut 1 is rotting out and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Winter is a quite time for Camp Hastings ... it's like Hibernation. ;)

08/30/2018

IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND ROCKFORD, AND STAY IN THE 117TH CAMP, YOU MUST BE A OF THE 117TH (OR 105TH ECB) AND THE WW II HRS INC !!! If you are unsure of your status, you better check NOW, waiting to do so at the event is a NO GO situation.

Bring the items you want to sell this weekend marked with the price and your initials. Also write FIRM on it if you are not willing to negotiate the price. If you are willing to negotiate let me know your bottom dollar. I will keep a log of names and sales.

The table will be located somewhere by one of the huts and open to the public.

Please email me to let me know if you will have items to sell.

Thank you,

Now that the Big Quonset is down, let's return focus to Hut 2. Let's get the South wall base caulked (inside & out) the insulation in, the inside walls in and electrical set up. The rest we can take our time with. The sooner we get the basic interior finnished, the sooner we can use it this fall, winter and early spring for Museum events & partys.
