Crosby Township celebrated their 104th Memorial Day Service at New Haven Cemetery to honor local men and women who fought in various wars to keep our freedom secure. There was a parade, speeches were given, music was played, and many organizations participated. The Historical Society was included in the reading of the names of veterans who have passed on. The Old Town Hall was not open this year due to renovations but a canopy was set up outside the hall where free cookies and drinks were available for those who stopped by.

Crosby Township Trustees created a fun-filled time for all the citizens in the township during their annual festivities at Stricker's Grove on May 19. During the event, the Historical Society provided information on the ongoing renovation of the Old Town Hall, as well as membership pamphlets, and history books and gift cards to purchase. Scratch-off lottery tickets were bought and hung on a lottery tree, which was then raffled as a fundraiser for the Society. Congratulations to the lucky winner Stephanie Frankenstein!

At their regular meeting, October 8, Township Trustee Chuck Heis read the Proclamation the trustees issued recognizing New Haven's Bicentennial. Trustee Heis then presented the document to Melba Guard, our President. The trustees also purchased road signs advertising New Haven's Bicentennial. They are in place under signs designating the village of New Haven and they look great! Our sincere thanks to the trustees and the township maintenance crew for their support and fine work in making this historical event memorable.
