Hollenberg Pony Express Station State Historic Site

Hollenberg Pony Express Station- One of the most unaltered Pony Express Stations still left on its original site. Built in 1857.

Open seasonally April through October, Hollenberg Station is situated along the Oregon and California trails. It provided a way-station for hundreds of pioneers on their way west, and also acted as a relay station for the short-lived Pony Express. The building still stands on its original foundation and, along with the visitor center, tells the stories of the Hollenbergs, pioneer life, and the Pony Express.

Tell us about your day. Tell us about yourself or your job. Tell us about your favorite books or pets. Write to us like your dear friend. All letters sent will be placed inside of a book and put on display at the visitors’ center during the Pony Express Festival Sunday August 30, 2026.
Letters should be sent before August 19, 2026, to make it into the book. Letters should be able to be read by all ages. Please be mindful of language and subjects.
